UOAlive First Day: Training

The newbie dungeon on UOAlive, accessible via a portal on top of New Haven bank.

A few days ago a dear friend let me know that they and a bunch of old friends from our OSI UO days had found a server they could see themselves making 'home' long term. I spent a day watching them play before doing the prerequisite work to load into the server last night. Today I finally made my first character, an intended bard mage. This server has greatly accelerated skill gain over OSI's rates, so the grind to build up a character's skills isn't too awful. It helped that my friends were able to give me some basic mage gear to help me begin my training journey, as well as pass along a few powerscrolls.

It took me a couple of hours to GM my magery on the earth elementals in the new player dungeon while hanging with the crew in Discord.

Since I had enough gold to buy myself a bunch of instruments, I did that and worked on my peacemaking.

Doom Gauntlet

 

In the middle of training, the crew let me know they were going to run the Doom Gauntlet a few times and I tagged along. I wasn't exactly helpful, as my skills weren't very high, but I was able to GM peacemaking and work a little bit on provocation.
